Hi all,
I seem to be having a problem with SMS 2.0 and a small test site that I have set up. On my Dell Optiplex GX1s with windows 95 installed, I am getting some really strange errors when collections run. The one that I get the most is out of memory errors. I can't even open my computer. I end up having to just shut the computer down (hard) and starting over.

I have SMS 2.0 installed with SP1 and these hotfixes:
Q238144
Q239564
Q242492
Q244034

The Dell Optiplex machines that are running NT seem fine. I also have an IBM Thinkpad running win98 and it functions fine.

Anyone seen this one?
I have seen this with frequency lately. In addition, SMS seems to be taking inventory daily, and users seem to be losing control of mouse functions. Sound familiar?

This has now been confirmed as a bug from Microsoft. The out of memory error is coming from Remote Tools. On the install or repair of the remote tools, there is an API call that is hanging and causing the out of memory error. I have found that if you break out your inventories to a strict schedule, (mine is 12 for hardware 12:30 for software on Wednesdays) it will help this problem. But, you still have the problem of Q article Q257224 witch makes the remote tools go into a repair pending state every 30 or so days. I have about 75 people that this affects. Just happened again yesterday. I have direct contact with Microsoft on this and they have their QFE working on a hotfix. I will post the hotfix info as soon as I get it. No eta on the fix as of yet. This does not get fixed with SP2.

Are we having fun yet Microsoft?
