Hello,
I have a user that gets indiscriminate Out of Memory errors while Outlook is open. She can be creating a new mail or have a received mail open or simply doing nothing at all.
I have eliminated hardware and have reimaged with known good image.
We are running NT 4.0,SP6a,Outlook 98,She has 128MB ram and 200MB page file. She also uses Word as her E-mail editor instead of Rich test (default). I tend to think that the editor is causing this but cannot find any info in Technet that is helpful. Has anyone experienced this problem?

Thnks in advance

Is the mail being stored on a personal folder or is there an exchange server involved? joegz

Mail is stored on Exchange server Ver 5.5.
Also I need to mention that Winword is hogging memory as Isee it in task manager. I think memory is not being released?
Your input appreciated joegz

Generally speaking using Word as the mail editor is not a good idea but you won't find that in Technet anywhere.

My first thought since you stated that Word is using a lot of memory is to try and replace the e-mail template (email.dot) as there could be a problem with the template file the client is using (which is one of the reasons why using Word is not a good idea. It gets other files involved which are susceptible to corruption.)

If you open Word with Outlook closed is the same amount of memory resources being used? joegz
