out of inodes

I have a /tmp filesystem running on AIX 4.3.3 ML-08. Here is the output from df:

/dev/hd3 1114112 1068096 5% 131072 95% /tmp.


Overnight the filesystem ran out of inodes, but there is plenty of free space. After adding a further 32Mb to the filesystem its still running at 95% inodes.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what action to take?

Perhaps it had something to do with the 131000 tempory files created overnight. Doh!
