I'm not a programmer or technician so please bear with me. I've been assigned to update database and run queries, etc. I've never used Paradox before and it'll be some time before I can update my 5.0 version. It took a while to get Paradox up and running, but now I get the following error when I search database: "Client 32: out of disk space writing PDOXWIN5.INI to server try deleting some files before continuing warning you will lose data if you hit cancel" - I'm given choice to retry or cancel. Retry does not work so I must cancel (by clicking multiple times) to return to default window. When I try to exit Paradox, I then get 'error writing to folder [F]' - I click OK to error message and then I can exit.

I have rights to the working directory (a shared directory), as well as my own private directory and I have enough memory on my C: drive to run program.

Other than having to re-install Paradox or upgrade to newer version - any other suggestions? Thanks much.

Aweter,

Two WAG's (wild guesses):

1. Make sure your Client32 is up to date. I have seen problems with versions older than 3.02 and I understand that more recent versions are even better.

2. Check the server to see if receive butter packet size is set to the default. If it is, try boosting it to the maximum allowed value. This will reduce packet collisions.

3. Consider installing Paradox locally on the client workstations. I know this is a paint in the tailfeathers, but it provides better performance and is, I think, another way around your problem.

4. Verify that LOCAL SHARE is true on each and every client's copy of BDE.

Hope this helps...
