Does anyone have any ideas where I can download a plugin filter of the Outer Glow effect present in the retail copies of Photoshop 5.5. Ive got 5.0 LE at the moment and I need this filter for some work im doing

You could do it manually, it's not that difficult.

1: Duplicate the layer you want to apply the glow to.

2: Select the lower layer, and use a combination of the Minimum filter (Filter > Other) and Gaussian Blur (Filter > Blur) to get the amount of 'glow' you want.

3: In the Layers palette, select 'Preserve Transparency'.

4: Select All, pick a nice foreground color for your glow, and choose Edit > Fill.

Voila! Outer Glow! You'll probably want to play around with the blending modes (Screen is usually good) and opacity to get the effect you want. Try it; it's much quicker to do than to write about!

Oh cheers mate thats great. Id used the gaussian blur effect before & wasnt sure if that was the same thing - cheers again mate

You could go to LAYER-LAYER STYLE-OUTERGLOW or get eye candy 4000. [deejay]
