I am looking for some very basic help. We have two Pix 515 firewalls, a very simple network (usual Web server, Exchange with single IMS, Proxy server (same server as IMS) and general bag of internal servers).
We recently tried to move the IMS service from the proxy server to another server. We amended a 'static' entry in the firewall config - simply changing the internal IP address. This is when we lost complete connectivity! We could not access external web-sites or Internet mail. External people could not access our network.
Changing the IP address back to its original did not correct the problem. Fortunately our second PIX just worked when plugged in.
An analysis of the two configurations shows no real differences that we can discern. The working firewall displays the appropriate static mapping when do 'show xlate' but the non-working firewall shows no details with 'show xlate'.
Can anyone give a pointer as to where to look?
