Has anyone ever experienced the following problem, OTMAN5 starts, ie the backup process and then X minutes later pagefile runs out of space and the server essentially dies and has to be rebooted. The event log shows OTMAN5 starting and the next error 75 minutes later is the pagefile is out of space.

I experienced this problem last night and it would appear that BackupExec started (accidently) at 17.15 by 18.39 the pagefile was out of space. As far as I understand BackupExec the pagefile of the server should not be affected/used at all because any changes made to files while the backup is running should be recorded/stored in BE own 50-500mb swopfile.

Unfortunately as the server was dead on its knees I had to cold reboot the server so there is no job log for last nights backup, which I think somehow started at 17.15, could be a hang over from a previous job and inserting a tape started the backup?

If anyone has any suggestions I would be interested, also does anyone know how to clear a pagefile -Win2000- without having to restart the server?

Cheers
