OTM web access

Please bear with me as I am new to this, and am having to learn most of it on my own, with a lot of help from this forum. Thanks to all.

OTM running on a 2000 server has web access correct.
Issue is with setting up user to be able to access.
Have found where to setup user groups in the navigator, and where to setup users and place them in groups. Have given read and write access to web in test group. Noted that once user is created in naviagtor they also appear as a local user on the server. Got that.

Problem is that none of the users that I create can log on through web interface. Recieve error stating "unable to authenicate user please try again. User authenication on the server in otm is set to user local user rather than domain, or ldap.

Can someone please tell me what step(s) I may be missing?

Here are my notes on the issue:

Go to the OTM machine, right click on “my computer,” click on “manage,” SYSTEM TOOLS/LOCAL USERS AND GROUPS/USERS/ACTION/NEW USER. Then go to LOCAL USERS AND GROUPS/GROUPS and add the new user to the admin group as well.

Yeah I have been playing with accounts, and that does work. Problem is if you put them in admin group, then they can access anything they want on web.

Trying to lock them to telecom billing portion of web. Which I have just spoken to my vendor. Web reporting is available in an enhanced module, which we don't have.
THIS MEANS MORE MONEY FOR NORTEL!

And setting up the access for the Web Reporting, telecom billing reports has more steps to it than just the regular OTM web access.

What other steps are you refering to?

The reporting relatinship so that the managers can pull reports for their people has to be done through the Employee Directory feature is one of them that I remember. There is more.
