I have a customer who has over 100 Meridians, each with a ITG card installed. I've been tasked to re programme the ITG cards via OTM 2.01 with all of the entries so that each site Node can call another via CDP.
To manually input this into the OTM will take on average 4 to 5 hours for each site & is pretty sad having to key it all in by hand! & then check it all afterwards.
I'm aware that the "Dial Plan" info can be viewed by using the Microsoft Access 2000 or later software.
I've played a bit with trying to copy & paste the data from one "system" to another & changing the Node index number. It appears that I have also got to change one column to match the "Auto line" number of another Access form, because the CDP info is missing.
Is there a simple way to put in the same CDP & IP data for each system. I have tried to cheat OTM by amending the Management IP info of one completed site to another one.
I suspect that Nortel have put in the extra parameter checks such as ITG Card Version & MAC address, which will need to be the same.
It's vary sad that after a few hours going mad typing it all in, Only to see it be FTP into the ITG card in a few seconds!.
There must be a easier way of doing this!.

What you need is a gatekeeper. I don't know of a specific brand that is supported by nortel, but the name radvision comes to mind for some reason. I also think that the mcs5100 can do this if you are interested in a nortel box. The gatekeeper will have the enterprise dial plan all in one place and all of the sites don't need a separate dial plan. Instead, you tell each one to register with and use the gatekeeper for all call routing.

I have an EXCEL spread sheet that can place all NXX and NPA in the ITG trunk dialplan in about 10 minutes. I have it broken down into units of 100 so it will go better. ie 200 through 200 and so forth. You can substitute the NXX or NPA and use it to put in DSC TSC or whatever you want. What is your email address and I will send it to you and help via email on getting it set up. It uses macros in Microsoft EXCEL. It will also help if you know EXCEL. You dont use NPAs as I know them in the UK but this spreadsheet can be modified to to handle just about anything.

unkalary can u mail me a copy of the .xls file to me ...thanks in advance ...i'm not working such a big network but we are working on a 4 system network ...

Hello Gents

Many thanks to you all for your time & input. I'm only looking for TSC's , DSC's & one SPN as we don't use NXX & NPA's as already noted.

To Teekow
on the GateKeeper issue, You were the second person to have made reference to this. I'm puzzled as I'm playing with a Sig Server at the moment (See another thread on Tek-tips).
I was under the impression that Element (Elephant) Manager was for use only with a Sig Server running Succession Software. My customers Meridian's are Mostly V25.40b for the 11c's & V25.25 for the larger Meridians.
The other problem is that the sites are all over the country & the original ITG Trunk cards were installed by engineers using their own range of "E" Lan IP Address's.
I guess that the Gatekeeper could access the ITG Card via the customers "T" Lan IP Address's to retrieve the existing dial plan data?. I think that I'll take a closer look at this option.

To Unkalary

I'm very interested in trying out your Excel spreadsheet for the ESN codes as listed above please. Would I be using this method to import the revised Dial Plan into the OTM Software, & then use OTM as normal for FTP transer into the card?.
I have around 137 entries to do & I'm getting a few fustrated colleagues of mine reporting "sore fingers"!. To be able to do this will save many hours of work & vastly reduce the amount of typing errors.
I would really value you help on this problem please.
My email address is david.bromley@talk21.com. As I get a great deal of spam on it. I'll reply back with a different email address.

Once again Many thanks for your input.

Hello Unkalary

Many thanks for the spreadsheet, I could not send you a reply back. I got a delivery failure.

Unkalary,

Would it be possible for you to send me the spreadsheet you referred to? The telecom Gods will shine down upon you if you grant this request.

Thanks,
