Having problem installing OTM 2.0. I get the following errors:..."Failed to load resources default to english"
"Failed to load resource dll for event log"
"Can't create OTM authentication instance"(get this message when I attempt to login)
"Authentication 8000401a"
I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times to no avail.
Also, PC is running IE 6.0 SP3.
I am trying to install the following OTM modules:
Common services, sta admin, esn, and all IP modules..my 1st inclination is to go back to IE 5.5 but wanted to get some feed back from the forum.

thanks

Sounds like to me you have an OS issue not a IE issue. I run on IE 6.0 all the time. What is the complete version of OTM (2.0, 2.01, 2.1)? Also what version of is your OS with service packs?

win 2000 prof 5.0 sp4 this is what I am at now. OTM 2.0.

still no luck

install SP3 for 2000 then try the OTM install again

good luck!

2.0 can't install on SP4. You must install under SP3 get the OTM SP4 patch then install SP4.

Thanks for the response...but if you read my initial post I stated I was running SP3 during the initial OTM install...I've done the SP4 patch and am now at SP4..and am at a total loss....I have loaded MAT/OTM many times but never a problem like this...also I have installed this same OTM on another PC with no problems...thanks again

I see that but you said "IE 6 SP3". So I wasn't sure if we were on the same page. My suggestion to you would be to reload your OS. IE is probable not your issue and it sounds like you are not having a OTM problem because it works on other machines?

Is there anything else running on that machine(CallPilot client, Symposium Client ,etc..)or any other apps besides office? If so remove.

Is the PC running a special company OS brick with programs running in the background that you don't know about? If so remove and use the standard OS.

If all else fails back up important files, format and start over only with the OS and OTM?

These are the first thing tech suppost is going to tell you to do.

Good Luck!

Broeking,
thanks for your input...I'm just using my Dell Latitude which I converted form NT (while at I was running OTM 1.2) to 2000 prof...nothing else running in the background...and you're right I'll prob just start over fom scratch.

thanks again
