OTM Flash downloads

Have an 81c with succession 3.0. A few of the last 3904's installed come up with a version 8.3. but most are 8.7. I understand that flash updates to the 3904 is not automatic when the set is installed. I only use OTM for updates etc. There is an option in OTM to do a "normal" flash download to the set. Does anyone know what this means? There is also a "force download" which I know happens immediately.

From within OTM's Maintenance Module firmware downloads can be performed on a per set basis. Go to the screen where you can view stations and look through the menus for firmware download.

Only OTM Enhanced and OTM Premium have the Maintenance Module - not OTM Basic. Look under "about OTM" at the Navigator window for a list of Modules on your system.

I'm sorry. Once again I didn't read an opening post correctly. Looks like you have the Maintenance Module.

I believe a force download will disconnect an active call - if needed - while a normal download will wait for the user to end an active call and than start the download.

That sounds right. Normal waits till idle. They should add an option to start the download at a pretermined time at night for instance. Thanks for the reply.

there is an option in otm to do an overaly pass through and use the comand line interface and the do a force download once the phone is idle
