We have OTM 2.0 and an Opt 11 C running 25.30. In the OTM station administration there are several prime dns in the directory. Last week I went thru the directory and the employee list and cleaned everything up, but now it is back to having too many or the wrong prime dn. WHY?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Did you transmit the directory to the switch after you cleaned it up??? If so just retrieve the directory again to make sure the changes took

I did that. I do all the programming in the switch and not the OTM. The last vender that was here set it up to make all corrections from the switch to OTM. Is it possible that because I don't use the OTM to change the phones that it will never stay correct? It is set to reconcile stations and names daily at 4:45 pm but it never looks completely right when I check prime dn's and the names are not always on the right ext.

We have OTM 2.0. Our database became corrupted, so Nortel had to rebuild it. Talking to the Nortel Support Tech, he instructed to always create, modify, or remove phones thru OTM not on the switch. By configuring on the switch first and then updated to OTM you can break the links which causes corruption. It seems like your database is corrupted.

That makes since, Im sure it is corrupted. I just don't trust the thing to do all the changes around here. It was a mess when I started here 6 months ago. I know it is supposed to be easier to to do the changes in OTM, but I don't think it's reliable enough in it's current state.

If you make changes ini the switch and not OTM it will not corrupt your switch but your OTM might not be right. The Reconcile is not 100% if a tn is no longer in the switch it will not be removed from OTM.

You could find the Station.dat file in OTM (typically under - C:\nortel\common data\site_id\system_id\station) and rename the file to Station.old or something and then do a sync/retreive/all

This will rebuild that file and populate station admin with the correct data from the switch

If you do all the changes in the switch why use OTM at all??
