Hi
Anyone good with OTM?
We have 3 Option11c and use OTM for administration over our LAN/WAN.
One remote site can be connected to via the system terminal side of OTM, but when the OTM database itself tries to connect via the scheduler we get an error - "failed to receive OVL111 prompt from Meridian1".
Any ideas??

Hi,

What version of OTM are you using?

I assume that you connect with Ethernet when you are using the terminal. Or do you connect the terminal via modem??

When you try to send something from the scheduler, do you get the log window?? If so what do you see?? Do you see "done!"?? And what are you trying to send?? CPND/Lists/Stations....

How many PTY's do you have in the problem switch? Is that the same number as in the working switches??

Marc.

Hi. Marc.

OTM ver. 1.2.
Yes, connect via ethernet.
Log window opens, "done!" appears, then "********" followed by "Failed to receive OVL111 prompt from Meridian1. Failed logon attempt"
Tried sending both CPND + stations, same with both.
As for PTYs, not sure, how do I check?

Cheers

Dave.

it is important to have multi_user in LD17 set to yes.
Try that..

Hi again,

Ok so far as I can tell everything is ok.... The PTY('s) must be ok since you can use the terminal.. The network connection is ok, since....... You can use the terminal....

The only thing I could think of is that Line Editing is on..

Log in to the switch and at the prompt type LOF

If you go in to an overlay type **** and see if you need to press return to exit the overlay, or if it exits directly after the 4th *

Marc

Hi,

Multi_User is advised... It's not mandatory... I always install my switches with the 1st level user/pwd and OTM/MAT work just fine...

Marc.

Hi guys.
Tried typing LOF - **** exits after 4th*, multi_user already set to on, still no change.
Error message the same.

Dave.

If you connect to the switch without log in and type **** do you see OVL111 ???

If I connect to the switch via System Terminal in OTM, type **** followed by return, the following appears.

TTY 04 SCH 16:15
OVL111 IDLE 0

Ok I'm out of options...

Your lying [bigglasses]

The only thing I could think of for now is...... SYSLOAD the switch.....

I know it's been over a year, but did you ever resolve this issue? I am having the exact same problem and my vendor is not having any luck coming up with a solution.

Greg

Hi. G Larkin.

It was resolved with a reboot/sysload of the switch.

Dave.

Dave,

Thanks for the reply! I'm talking with my vendor's 2nd level support right now (they're clueless) and will tell them about your resolution. Thanks again for your reply.
