I have an IP500V2 8.0(42) with 120 96xx IP Phones. The voicemail is on a Windows Server 2008 machine. Also installed on that server is Voicemail Pro, Xima, and one-X Server.

The problem is one-x need IIS, and IIS is using port 80, so I cant run a 3rd party HTTP file server to serve the IP Phones their files. Ive heard you can configure IIS to be a file server and from what Ive looked at and tried, it wont work because again one-x is using IIS over port 80 already.

I know I can use Manager and the SD card to server the files for up to 50 phones at a time, but Im looking for another option. When I tried that, it would do more then 4 or 5 phones at a time.

I can't put a file server somewhere else on the network because the voice mail server is the only PC on the network. The voice is a completely separate network from the Data.

Sure you can use IIS.
Go to c://InetPub and put in the phone file in the root for HTTP.
Job done.

Thanks for the reply Peter.

Do you mean c:\InetPub? there is no HTTP folder there.

Sorry, i am confused with MV_ IPtel who has a http folder.
Yes i mean the InetPub folder.
That is the folder that IIS uses.

If you have Manager installed on that server, just change the IIS home directory to c:\program files (x86)\avaya\ip office\manager. That has worked well for me on past installs.

Argh, what ugly solutions!

If you have IPO Admin installed, then you have a proper source for your file server. Please use IIS, it's the best option. But don't change the to the manager directory. Instead create a virtual directory named 'avaya' or what you like best. Now append 'HTTPDIR=avaya' to the DHCO option 242. Voila!

This way, if you upgrade IPO Manager on this server, the new files are ready for the phones. And IIS is not broken.

Albus that is a nice and elegant way to do it.
I like, I give pink then I go drink cheers to all you lonely souls that are here on a Saturday.

Avaya MV_IPTEL is what you need ftp, tftp, http, https you can modify and save files monitor activity , it comes with a PDF that explains everything , just make sure you do a netstat-a to make sure the port you are trying to send the files with is not in use already before you use MV_IPTEL

If you are worried about stepping on the X-one stuff, you can always create a new IIS Web separate from the default, or X-One webs. You can Add a second IP address to the server and use its IP to access the Specific web for File Server services.

1XP uses port 8080 do port 80 from IIS is free to use.
Just put the files in the
