Could any body advice if there other IP phone brands that are compatible with Mitel, tested and have been in service could be recommended?

Thanks,

First Question would be why

- 3rd party phones would have to be SIP
- SIP phones are less functional on a Mitel system than Mitai based phones , but depending upon the 'why' it might not matter

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

If memory serves there's even a way to run Nortel phones but that might be old news.

Mitel Branded phones will definitely give you more functionality.

If you're looking for a cheap basic phone I'd still go with Mitel and a 5304 phone.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

The main reason of searching other brands than Mitel, is that we want to buy them from the local market, I am out of the States, and here there are only Cisco phones!and ordering IP phoned from abroad is difficult!!

I think the SIP could be utulized and ,will make the business run,

Thank you all for your advice

Nortel phones are digital type (not IP IIRC) and needed a asu type unit to go from IP to digital and back. I don't think its still available and never sold well as far as I know. I looked once and it was cheaper in the long term to buy Mitel IP phones rather than the unit and keep replacing dodgy Nortel phones....IMHV
