Sorry but not sure what forum to post this in...
User A receives an complaint email to his AOL account. User A forwards the complaint to User B on our corporate domain, with his comments (AOL attaches "Complaint Subject.msg" to User A's comments).
User B sees User A's email in his Outlook XP inbox. Shows up in Messages View with a paperclip indicating an attached file. In the preview pane, there is an entry for Attachments, with a scroll bar in the right margin, but no filename. User B opens the email from User A in Outlook XP, and again, a line appears labelled "Attachment:" with a scroll bar on the right, but no filename.
User B right-clicks on the blank line next to "Attachments" and is now able to select Save As. He does so, and proceeds to save a file called COMPLAINT SUBJECT.MSG.MSG to his desktop. He's then able to open the file normally to read the complaint.
User B forwards the original message and the mystery attachment from User A to the Helpdesk. The email appears normally, with the original "complaint subject.msg" attachment in tow. Both User B's message and the comments & attachment from User A are visible and able to be opened.
Applied all Office Updates
Repaired Office installation
Re-installed Office
Removed Office
Installed Office
No avail.
Ideas?
TIA
