I'm thinking of embarking on learning assembler (I have a few random documents regarding it), and for seeing the posts in here, I was wondering if anyone that knew assembler was watching in here, in case I wanted to come over here and ask a question regarding something if I get stuck.

You would of course need to be specific about which assembler and processor you were interested in.

Definitely. I'm trying to do standard X86 ASM, whatever that translates out to. I figure if I can get that down, I can easily jump off into any of the other things that would interest me.

Specifically, I have the Netwide Assembler sitting here, but I just found out that the first example programs out of the texts I have don't work in it. Of course, I could always be missing something.

So I guess the first question I would have is the matter of getting something that I know will work out so I can try and start learning.
