Gerry.

With only a few hours left in your retirement, I thought I would pounce upon the opportunity to wish you Happy Retirement.

Since you don't subscribe to the internet at home, I presume we will not see you on these fora that often.

Happy Star Gazing, Happy Sclupting and Happy Painting. Wish you all the best.

I am sure the Microsoft Word community will miss your valuable contributions.

Canadian eh! Check out the new social forum Tek-Tips in Canada.
I should live a long time - I eat a lot of preservatives.

Gerry,

I'm still hanging on, @ 69 last Monday.

May your thoroughly enjoy your next phase in life.

Skip,

Gerry,

Thank you very much for all the help you have provided over the years. I miss you already. Happy Retirement!

Well, the plan is to not be here...but you know, I am not sure I can do it. We shall see. In any case, yes it is true that I will not be here for a while. I do not have Internet at home, and again, I do not have any plans to change this. However, I may not be able to stand the isolation. It is all well and good to be a hermit when I still maintain my connection here. And ( as pathetic as it is to say it) the fact is, TT is - gulp - my main social connection.

So, we say see. I will be doing a bit of roaming around. I have not driven through the Rockies in decades, so I am plannin gto visit my sister in Saskatchewan. Plus a slow meander down the West Coast to spend a week or so hiking in the redwoods again.

Other than that, I have no idea what the heck I am going to do.

Thank you all for the good wishes. They are much appreciated.

I too thank you for the help you've given me and so many others and wish you a very happy retirement.

My first 3 years of retirement have been glorious and I trust you're going to love it too.

Like many of us I'll probably find you in "My Thread Archive" for years to come.

Good Luck

Hi Tony. Yes, it will be my first (as an MVP), and quite likely the last (since it is doubtful I will still be one next time).

Where the heck am I staying???????? OK, right. I am at the Sheraton. I will getting there some time (I hope...if I do not have problems at the border. Who knows these days?) Sunday afternoon.

Where are you? I hope we will have a chance for a dinner, or a drink, or something anyway. Heck, I am going to count on you to keep in on track, since you are th experienced one.

I am at the Westin - arriving sometime Sunday. Last year things happened in the Hyatt - this year I see registration is at the Westin so that may be where people hang around - no idea what it's like there. I just sort of count on bumping into people - it seems to work :)

Enjoy,
Tony

Gerry - if you're still around. Happy retirement and enjoy the wanderings n meanderings!

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Hey Gerry,

a Happy Retirement from me too. Enjoy yourself and take it easy!!

Cheers, Glenn.

Thank very much. It is looking better and better all the time. Threw out all the plaques and awards (collected over 30+ years, and I sure as heck have no intention of taking them home with me) in my office space. All relevant data files back up multiple times.

I can be out the door, clean, in 30 seconds.

Hey, guess what? After years and years of asking for a name thingie to mark my office space, and my request never seeming to go anywhere, a name tag/whatever appeared a few minutes ago. Cracked me right up. What a hoot.

gotta love it when 'timely' requests are so very untimely.
