Hi Everyone

I have been using Fedora Core 4 for a while now. I managed to do some damage to my install and decided that since I needed to re-install I may as well install Core 5.
After Core 5 installed, by NIC no longer works. (This worked in Core 4 with no extra configuration needed)

The NIC in question is a SMS EZ Ethernet 10/100 which uses the following chipset: ADMTEK AN983B
I know that the NIC used the tulip drivers in Core 4.

When I do system-config-network, I can see the following under "Hardware": Linksys NC100 Network everywhere fast Ethernet 10/100 with a "Status" of "OK"

When I try to setup the device under system-config-network and activate it, it says that the tulip driver found that the hardware was not present.

I honestly don't know where to go from here. I don't see how a NIC can work in 1 version and then not in the very next release. Also - the device is picked up as I can see it under the hardware with a status of "OK"

Please could someone tell me what I could do next to try and fix/ troubleshoot the problem.

Your help is much appreciated.

Regards
Brendon

Is there an eth0 listed when you type ifconfig -a? If so, does ethtool eth0 work? Can you see a tulip module listed in lsmod?
