Hi

a good programm to communicate betwee mac's and windows is Dave. You need version 3 or higher for OSX.
There are other networking possibilities like PCMACLAN, but I don't know if there is already a version for OSX

So long as you have Macintosh Services running on the 2000 server and Appletalk if you want. This works fine. Not much difference. If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.

Grillhouse's solution will allow the PCs to see the Mac.
Matt's solution allows the Mac to see Windows 2000 servers.

Depends which way round you need it. For true integration you'll need Dave on the Mac if there is now a decent 2000 version.
