My area 0 is doing constant recalculations, but the network is very big...I need a logging or snmp command to narrow down my search for the culprit...

Besides log-adjancency-changes under the process, what other commands can I use to point to my syslog server?

Try to setup a SNMP server and send traps like the belows:

Router(config)#snmp-server enable traps ospf ?
cisco-specific Cisco specific traps
errors Error traps
lsa Lsa related traps
rate-limit Trap rate limit values
retransmit Packet retransmit traps
state-change State change traps
