After upgrading my server from AIX 5.1 to 5.3, the oslevel -r command no longer works? See below.

ibm07:/home/root (5000)#oslevel -r
awk: Cannot find or open file /tmp/.oslevel.mlinfo.24126.

The source line number is 1.
No recommended maintenance level information is available.

Thanks,

Shane

Try renaming the following files

cd /usr/lib/instl

.oslevel.mlinfo.cache
.oslevel.lock

I dont have those files:

ibm07:/usr/lib/instl (5003)#ls -l .oslevel.mlinfo.cache
.oslevel.mlinfo.cache not found

ibm07:/usr/lib/instl (5004)#ls -l .oslevel.lock
.oslevel.lock not found

Shane

Do a find for them

find / -name .oslevel.mlinfo.cache -print
