Trying to decided if to install an OS X Server or an MS Exchange server, does any one have an experence of installing OS X server and the mail software on the server? Any thoughts would be great. Thanks in advance.

If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

Depends on the services you want to run...

We are running both...one for the PC network and email The other one for the mac network as a file server to mac users.

Must say...since installing the Xserve...we have had an easier life on the Mac side. If you are running a mac only network...my advice would be to stick with OSX server.

Running both Apple MAc and PC systems, just don't want to run an Exchange Server from MS. Plus the cost of an Mac Server is cheaper when it comes to the software.

Can a generic list be created, that all the email clients can see from the server?

We have a support company who set it all up for us...but...

The PC box is running exchange server for email...running outlook on the PC and exchange (IMAP) on the Macs...no problem with clients being able to see list.
