OS X Server file permissions

OS 9 clients take files, work on them and put them back without a problem.

OS X clients take files, work on them and when they put them back, permissions are the that User only and no one else can access them.

How can I set the permissions either on the server or the client so that all files stay with full access to all?

OS X.2 server.
 
On the OS X Server, (Os X Server edition) you can set the permissions on the share (within workgroup manager sharing) to inherit permissions from the parent instead of using unix security. You can even copy the permissions set down to the items residing in the folder. This is not available on client machines however. For Client machines there are a few programs that allow you to do things "kind of" like os 9 permissions one called sharepoint or something like that.

We've got the shares set correctly but when OS X clients copy from client to server, the permissions are retained with owner set as the client user and no other access.
