Hi

I am trying to use the finder's CD burning functionality, with an external 1394 firewire CD Writer.

The OS recognises the drive and mounts a blank CD ok.

I assume that I then need to copy the files that I want to burn to the CD into the blank CD image (this can take some time with lots of small files as the system is quite slow)
I then select "burn CD" from the finder menu and away it goes - the only problem is that it hangs after aboput 2 minutes?

I have tried several different brands of CD-R and still the same result?

Does anyone have any ideas of why it might be doing this?

Thanks for any comments,

..EB

First off:
What version of OS X. This can make a difference.

Also:
I use a program called DiscBlaze that is great and I get none of the errors I got with finder and with Toast. I recommend this one for people who are having problems.

Hi Kyle

I am using OS 10.3.3 'Panther' - Im gonna try new discs as it seems as though the burning process initialy starts and then stalls.

Thanks
