Does anyone know if there is a Redbook or other IBM doc that gives a list of system defaults (for just about everything: filesystem size, kernel, schedtune, vmtune settings, etc.) for an "out of the box" AIX systems, version 5.2? Unfortunately, I'm not at a place where I have a sand box where I can test to see what are the defaults.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

i don't think so unless such things are in the latest performance manual. i do know that AIX comes configured for single-user processing out of the box, which is normally not what we use it for.

note that aix 5.2 uses new perf commands such as vmo and ioo. they are also activated differently, from a special command in inittab. you should get the latest perf manual anyway.
