Strange situation this...
I have a Windows 2003 server running our fax software and doing data storage. When certain files are accessed or the backup is running the system will switch off. The power is still on but the OS is not responding. I have to turn off the power to the system and then power on. No errors are recorded in event viewer, no warnings. I have run scan disk on the system, it helped a bit but still clicking off when I try a backup. I have also tried to move files to another data server and certain files will have it switch off. Ideas? Suggestions? Tools that I could use...?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

thanks
michelle

Hi Michelle,

Your problem might be better answered here: forum931

That said, are all the case/CPU fans working properly and clean? Have you monitored the temps inside the case?
