I'm looking for a linux OS to run on an Intel platform that is powerful on the serving side of things and easy to use because I'm very new to Linux? I've looked into Slackware and Redhat? Any suggestions?
I'm currently using redhat's distribution for a data collection server (It collects approx 220000 points per minute and stores the data 24 hours a day 7 days a week). It's has run flawlessly and the hardware is not overly taxed. It's installation was the easiest i've seen as well.
