I need to determine the OS from an access app using VBA.

Basically I need to place a file in different locations based on the OS that the app is being run on.

Should be easy right?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Hmmmm.... Interesting.

There HAS to be an easier way. I need to drop an export in one place for XP and another for Vista.

Any other ideas? I can't be the only one with this issue right?

Thanks again.

OK that is the same page as above, but I got "Sub or function not defined" on apiGetVersionEx.

Any ideas there?

Thanks.

Call the public function fOSName. It uses the private functions.

Still no love.

What references do I need to include to use the system.version?

Thanks.

Worked for me. I created a new module and pasted the entire function and declarations into it. Save the module as "basOSVersion" and you should be able to use fosname() anywhere in you MDB.
