I have Ntservers running and considering putting the network on line, to eliminate the isp and there servers, to host our web and mail facilities. Would it be wise to jump across to the linux option now or later when the service is widened to the customers we support. The reason I ask is a concern by my superiours of the exposre of the network to the internet and a lot of news about holes in NT. Such as the recent IIS4 hole that opened the whole network to the internet. <br>

Any comments on all matters related to the subject of setting up the service would be appreciated.

I think Windows NT is very secure and I think if you run your network through a couple of proxys and/or firewalls there is no need to move to linux. While Linux is a more stable network operating system, it is often a troublesome operating system to diagnose and repair in problematic situations. Users often find the OS too difficult to use, and often become very frustrated with it.
