OS 9.2 - Will Not Boot

Hi

When I start the computer I get a flashing folder icon with a question mark in it and then the Mac face logo on a grey background freezes.

I have booted from the CD and replaced the finder and also put the basic extensions back.

I do not know what to do next any ideas?

If placing the system basics in the system folder doesn't work, it looks like a full system install is needed.

I would rename the old system folder and install a fresh one from the CD. Once the Mac is running on its own steam again, copy any of the necessary components from the old system folder into the new one.

If you do a clean install you don't need to rename the System Folder - it will do it for you.
