Hi,

When I start the "Chooser" all I get is what appears to be the top left corner of the Chooser's gray box about 1cm square, I have tried rebooting and re-building the desktop, but I still have no chooser.

What can I do?

Thanks for your help,

Does the rest of the machince carry on working normally?

Can't remember if there is or not but you could try deleting the Chosser Pref's file.

Which machince is it? If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

The rest of the machine appears to be working ok, if I delete the Chooser pref's file, what will happen - will it rebuild,

Thanks for your help

Yes Chosser will have to rebuild a new one. But by deleting the old you could get rid of the problem. If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

Oh dear!

I can not find a preferences file for the chooser, any other ideas?

Thanks

You've got a couple options here....if you are even still having the issue.

the last step is to reinstal the Chooser from the system restore disk. Install in place if that option exists - AFTER doing hte following with no joy:

Trash AppleShare Prep (Macintosh HD | System folder | Preferences)

Trash AppleTalk Preferences (same location)

No fear in doing this. No lost data and will be recreated by the system.

Hope it helps.
