Okay ... I guess it's time to bite the bullet and upgrade from OS 8.6 (which has been running beautifully) to OS 9.1.

Question: What is the best and most efficient way to do this without messing up the stability of my nicely running blue/white G-3?

Thank you.

You can ebay any OS9 CD, then take free upgrades all the way to 9.22

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Not sure if this is still accurate, but I had heard NOT to upgrade to 9.2.2 unless you were running OS X. If you were still booting in 9 to stay at 9.1. Any news on that??

I do know that Macs that are not 'born' with a G3 CPU should stay at 9.1, (there are hacks if you NEED to use 9.22 on an older Mac) I have heard no warnings that a Blue and White won't like 9.22

this article lists why you may want 9.22
