OS 10.2 - IE keeps losing passwords

I have a user with an eMac running OS 10.2 and Internet Explorer. Even when he checks the "remember me" boxes for logon sites, the sites always forget him. It seems to work sometimes, but more often than not, it will lose them--even when he never closes IE. What can cause this?? The cookie/security settings are not blocking anything and for the sites in question, I can see the actual cookie files on the system.

Have you tried Keychain first aid? It's built into Panther's keychainaccess application. For older versions of OS X, it's a download:

I just have this a try, but didn't work. It didn't detect anything wrong with the keychain and thus, couldn't repair anything. I might just let this user run mozilla or safari instead.
