I have a report with two groups and a details section. The first group is company name and the second is event type. The details section shows fields related to the event.

I have done different scenarios with the keep together function on both the group and the sections. Toggling each on or off still seems to leave me with orphan headers from one or both groups. The way the report sits now, I have both groups "keep together" in the group expert. Then in the section expert, I have the company name "keep together" on both the GH and GF. I have one particular company, the one with the most different event types, that is showing just the company name (GH) on page 4. Page 5 starts with the same company name and then with event type and details. Why is this? It's driving me bananas!

A group with no members won't show on Crystal, so you must be doing something to suppress the detail lines. If this were moved to Record Selection, that would be a simple fix. And would speed the report, since record selections are mostly done by the server, a faster machine designed to do just that.

This won't work if you need to suppress detail lines based on tests to more than one detail line. You can use group selection - for instance I grouped accounts by the number of linked customers, did a summary count for "account" as a group, and then suppressed those with a count of less than 3, giving me just those with three or more customers.

Try removing the "keep group together"--I think this is forcing another page for a group that is a little too large.
