I'm running a 1mb dsl line to a computer in my office...using an Orinoco silver card to a nearby hilltop...routed back out to my house on a second Silver card in a FreeBSD machine. My laptop running W2K gets the full 1 mb connect speed using a Silver card...however hooking up my desktop, also running W2K using the USB client I'm only getting 1/4 the speed. Is there some TCP/IP bandwidth throttling or control I can adjust on W2K to improve this speed? Something is wrong here....But I can't figure it out...

Could it because USB is the bottleneck.

BTW, do you have any links that you could point me to regarding setting up a FreeBSD box with a WLAN card?
