Is it possible to have the IP Office send the original calling party's CLI as outgoing CLI for forwarded calls ?

This is not on twinned calls just straight user with forwarding to external destination.

If the IPO is capable of sending the original calling party CLI then is there a facility which needs to be activated on the ISDN trunk to support the feature ?

This is for ISDN PRI trunks in the UK

You can't do this on ISDN in the UK, it's to stop Spoofing :)

for some telco's in North America, this is allowed. It requires signing a waiver for E911 purposes, as spoofing is possible. Most used for mobile twinning.

if this is generally not allowed, how can you send something like a 0800 number?
You need "special arrangement

The UK OFCOM regulations allow a carrier to provide a contractual arrangement to provide CLI release. You need Level 4 or 5 CLI release from your provider. I have heard tell that BT will provide this...

However, I don't think that IPO will forward the CLI unless you use twinning. You'll probalyhave to use an 'i' in the shortcode.

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

When you have special arrangement, you must send every call in either national or international type of number. I.e. you must set a ? / dial / .Si123456E code for every user. In system you can now place a ? / dial / .SSi code. This is only used for trunk/trunk connections, forward unconditional to external destination. Twinning calls are not using this system SC.

Or just let the provider activate Partial Rerouting, which must be enabled in IPO too. This will save you the programming work for above codes, and it will free up the ISDN channels. This way the original number is sent to the target. No special arrangement needed.
