I am going to need to dynamically create an organizational chart in application. Dont' really want to use a third party tool.

Any ideas on the best place to start?

Thanks in advance.

Where do you want to display this chart? Should the user be able to output it to some kind of file?

And most importantly, if you write your own third party tool, does that make it a first party tool? (which I presume would be more to your liking?)

Now you can go where the people are one!
Now you can go where they get things done!

It will be displayed on a web pages, more specifically in a web part.

It is ok, to write my own thirty party tool.

For ASP.net you might have better luck here: forum855

Good Luck,

This org chart, is it just an image? Or will it be a control which the user can interact with? If the former, you'll find this easy with .NET's GDI classes.

Just some thoughts [wink]

Thanks for the help. I forgot to mention that this would be a web part in shrarepoint and that I would need output from the chart.
