Okay, all documentation I have been able to research specifies that the "Organization Name" that you enter during the installation of CRM must match the registered company name when we purchased the software. What it does NOT say is that this must also be the business unit and that it also create the database names using this HUGE name. As a DBA, having a 30 character database name with 3 underscores is just plain stupid.

Question1: Can we not have our business unit and database ID to be what WE choose?

The OU can be anything you want. The db will be created using the org name.
