I have a report where the query results are sorting on two fields - last name and then membership

I want to show all the people who are not members first, then have a line or space to separate them from all the people who are members.

How can I get a carriage return in between the two groups on the report ?

you are probably best using sub reports to achieve this.

But to sort them, sort by membership first (ascending), and then lastname.

If lastname comes before membership in the query, insert another lastname after membership and sort this one, but make sure the flag for show in unenabled.

hope this helps.

nikky,
Doesn't this suggest that you are sorting your report by [membership] and then [Last Name]? You can use membership in your sorting and grouping and select Yes for a group header or footer to insert a section between groups of records.
