Does anyone know how an order by clause is performed server side ? What order algorithm do they use (merge, bucket, quick) ? Thanks

just wondering really... Dont't suppose you know what Oracle uses ?

I know Oracle sorts in RAM upto the SORT_AREA_SIZE and then sorts in the Temp tablespace if larger than SORT_AREA_SIZE
