ORDER BY RUNNING TOTALS

In Crystal 8.5, running totals are generated as the report runs. You can't group using them, because the group function has to work things out at an earlier stage in Crystal's processing cycle.
Use a Summary Total if possible. More limited, but they are worked out ahead of the grouping. You get them by right-clicking on a field and chosing [Insert] and [Summary].
