Orcle8i question.

Hi

I am currently working on a project using Oracle9i on Suse Linux. But, the requirement for the tools and programming languages to be used for development shall be supported and compatible with Oracle vervion 8.1.7. Just wondered wherther two different versions are compatible to work with or not. Any help is greatly appreciated.

As I know you can use development tools (such as Forms, Reports etc.) which are compatible with Oracle 8.1.7 also for Oracle9i. But you can't use some of the new features of Oracle9i because of PL/SQL version of Forms. Even there are some restrictions of using all features of Oracle 8.1.7.
