Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I am trying to find the product life cycle for Oracle's XDK -- NOT Oracle's XML DB (there is a difference).

I found links on OTN for the XDK for both v 9i and v 10g, but my DBAs tell me that this is "being phased out".

When I asked them, "WHEN", they have no answer. The problem I am facing is that a 3rd pary, packaged application relies on Oracle's XDK (is installed in the environment in which the application will live).

According to my DBAs they have installed the XDK. However, I am receiving all sorts of errors which the vendor of the 3rd party app says are DIRECTLY related to the XDK install.

HELP!

This would be the first I've heard of XDK being phased out. Given the number of customer installations that are relying on this, I seriously doubt that it will go away anytime soon; more likely, Oracle will either change the name and market it as something new or else bury it inside of something else so that it is available but not visible as a separate entity.

It will help us to help you if you could give us a hint about the errors you are getting - such as: exactly what errors are you getting?

Thanks,

Here's one I get when running what I think is supposed to be a "test"

SQL> select dbms_xmlquery.getxml('select * from dual', 2) from dual;
ERROR:
ORA-29540: class oracle/xml/sql/query/OracleXMLStaticQuery does not exist
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_XMLQUERY", line 19
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_XMLQUERY", line 271
ORA-06512: at line 1
