Hi,

My DBA's tell me that in the next couple of months we will be upgrading from Oracle 8.0.5 to Oracle 8.1.7. I've seen some neat features that will be available in the upgrade (ex: in-line queries) in various forums, but I cannot seem to lay my hands on a comprehensive list of the features made available and the changes that will be imposed on me. I've tried looking through metalink and the release bulletins, but I cannot seem to find all of the subjects discussed in forums.

Does anyone know of an Oracle document note or a white paper that states what is new and how it can be leveraged?

Thanks,
meker

Note:121766.1 on Metalink gives all new features of 8.1.7
Also;

For an overview of all new features introduced
in the initial release of Oracle8i (8.1.5) and in Oracle8i Release 2 (8.1.6),
see the "Oracle8i New Features Summary" and the "Oracle8i Release 2 New
Feature Summary". For details on what features are available with each
edition of Oracle8i, consult the white paper "Oracle8i: A Family of Database
Products".

Have you checked these out ?

Alex

Thanks,

Apparently I need to learn how to navigate metalink better.
