I would like to update/insert data from Oracle to SQL Server using a Oracle stored procedure. The procedure contains an insert statement that inserts data into a SQL Server table. I run the Insert statement standalone and was able to insert the entry onto SQL Server. However, using Oracle stored procedure generates the error below:

Error:ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:
[Generic Connectivity Using ODBC]393330(0,0,1[[]])
ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from SQL_SERVER.

I am using an established DB Link to SQL Server (ODBC). Can anybody tell me what am I doing wrong?

Hi,
Be sure the stored procedure runs as the same user that you use for the 'direct' action...
( You can try searching MS's knowledge base for that error string)
