What are the risks/ramifications of using Oracle triggers -- specifically an ON Update trigger -- on a database. The trigger will copy the records that are updated real time from one table to another table. Any help is appreciated.

DISCLAIMER: I'm new to Oracle.
The only thing I can relay to you is what our IT Director has repeatedly told me: Oracle is EXTREMELY reliable. We use triggers all the time. They always work as expected. So, coming from where I am right now, I'd say there are none. Just design your procedures correctly, and everybody will be happy.

Make sure that you wont UPDATE the same table inside your TRIGGER, otherwise, you might experience mutation.
