Can I create a report based on Oracle Synonym? I have some public synonyms in my schema and was trying to base reports on these objects. In Crystal Reports 10 [ODBC -> Options], I have selected Table,Views, synonyms etc..but still only tables and Stored procedures show up. Nothing else. Is there any place else I need to check for Synonyms?
Thanks for any help

Make sure the user has rights to them.

Why not use Oracle Server as the connectivity (it's a direct driver)?

THank you for responding. Yes, User has Execute rights for those objects and from oracle point of view, they are good. I can see all synonyms for this user. But when I connect thru Crystal I am not able to. I can try Oracle direct drivers..but we had some issues with that in the past and went ODBC way.
I am not sure if i can use other than ODBC for my production server..
If there is any alternative way, i can try that too.
But thanks for helping me with all the questions i have been posting :)

It's usually simpler to use direct than ODBC.

You might want to post specifics, we don't know what your production server is.

Hi,
So, just to be clear, the synonyms are for Stored Procedures?( based on the Execute permission).

What version of Oracle on what platform?

Sorry for late reply, Oracle version is 9i and Crystal Report 10 accessing [trying to access]stored procedures/packages [yes, public synonyms]

Thanks,
