Hi,

I want to write an sql statement in oracle sql plus which will backup a database (ie temp backup whilst I work on it). I've been told I can use create table statement. Can anyone help.

thanks

The following will delete a previous backup (if it exists) copy of a table and recreate it.

drop table temp1;
commit;

create table temp1 as
select * from table2;
commit;
