I have just had Crystal Reports 10 installed on my PC.

When I start a new report and select the Add New Connection, the Oracle Server selection is not there.

Can someone help me identify what may have gone wrong or how to get this selection to show?

Thanks,
Ray

You need to add/install the oracle client to your PC.

However, as it was installed after Crystal you may have to uninstall and reinstall Crystal to pick up the Oracle connection details.

Hi,
In addition to that, be sure you have the correct version of CR10 - The basic version does not have provisions for connecting to external databases like Oracle, only file based ones - you need CR10 Professional or Developer to use Oracle as a data source.
If you have the correct version, be sure that the Oracle Server option was chosen when CR was installed..If not, you can add it.

Thanks Turkbear.

I do have the correct version installed.

How do you "add it"?

Ray

Hi,
Go to the add/remove programs applet and select the Crystal Reports item, you should get an option to modify it, not just install or repair.

If the Oracle client is installed, the Oracle Server option should show as an installable item.

Ian, Turkbear,

That got it! The Oracle Server is now installed.
Thanks for the assistance.
